Rockford’s musical talent is becoming more and more visible as groups such as Hustle & Culture hit our city hard with quality sounds and lyrical content. Group founders Akeem Kizart and Ronald Watson bring together a group of guys who “really just like hanging out and making music” (check out the link above for their Facebook page to see full list of members).
I’ve had the chance to hear a few of these guys perform in Rockford’s Battlefest, spoken word, and other positive local hip hop events. Impressive is the wrong word to describe Hustle & Culture..super saiyanism is more like it.
Just when Rockford seems like it’s on the verge of being taken over by violent crime, we have artists like these who remind us that our community has dedicated people as citizens who strive to use their talents for great purposes. Hustle & Culture is just one group of artists out of many who believe that Hip Hop is in our city’s blood and that music and words can still be fun and entertaining.
